I've been experimenting with white glue, too. I mixed some white glue, lemon juice, water and a bit of sugar together. I might could have done without the sugar, but I haven't tried that yet. I like it better than just plain old lemon juice and sugar. It dries quickly and makes a nice coating over the design. I put cotton over the last coat and wrap it and it works fine to sleep in. This is obviously not for professionals, but I tried New Skin and had : a hard time getting it off so tonight I experimented with using some : regular old white glue (Elmers, what have you). I just dabbed it on : over the design on the back of my hand and let it dry, then dabbed on : another coat. I let it sit for a while, and when I peeled it off it : took the mehndi with it and there was my design (darker than usual, : even, but I'd just mixed a fresh batch). : I haven't tried sleeping with this type of fixative yet, and I'm not : sure how well it would work. I'm in Ontario, Canada, and the climate : (at the moment) isn't really humid and sweaty, but the glue would : definitely get smeary and move around with sweat if I wrapped it in : cling wrap and tried to sleep. But it works well in a pinch if you're : not doing an overnight design!
