: Shop owners kept trying to sell me the henna for hair, telling me it's : exactly the same thing. I read some ingredients skeptically, but : didn't bother. I'm not that desperate yet. If you *do* get desperate, go to a health-food store or something and get Light Mountain hair color/conditioner, RED (the darker ones might be okay; don't get the lighter ones as they're neutral). It really is red henna, nothing else. Needs serious sifting (figure losing 1/4), but the result gave me a reasonable stain. Note please that I'm not suggesting this as high quality, but as an interim measure that will at least work. Side question: Does anyone do anything with the sifted-out bits? Are they worth grinding & re-sifting, or maybe worth making into a thick paste for large, solid areas (like dip or nails)? Or are the bits that sift out also less potent, like chaff?
