: When I touched the shells/hulls of black walnuts fresh off a trees, : it quickly stained my hands a strong brown/black. : I was wondering if any walnut product sold out there can do the same : thing. I've tried walnut hull powder but it wouldnt stain my skin. : Has anyone out there gotten any kind of result using any type of : walnut product? I've used Walnut powder and strained it through a paper coffee cone. It did darken the intial results but did not effect the long term results. It gave a more instant gratification while the henna had a chance to oxidize. But like henna the results vary from batch to batch of walnut powder. The older it is the less likely it is to stain. You can probably buy Balck Walnut extract for about $10 for a 2oz bottle and try that. I've considered making a balck walnut tincture myself and seeeing what I come up with. The problem I'm having is trying to find a black walnut tree in my neighborhood. Now I want to tell you I'm highly allergic to walnuts of any kind, yet, I don't seem to have a problem with the application of it to my skin but it could be just because I'm only doing a water extraction and it doesn't soak into my skin as much. So as many before me I warn you to be carefull with your skin.
