Transfering Designs to the skin

I am uneasy about freehanding and would like to know if anyone knows
of a way to transfer a design (already drawn out) onto the skin then
just trace over it with the henna....

I've tried the contact paper and exacto knife trick but it did not
work too well with fine intricate patterns.

Can it somehow be done like tattoos (I know they draw first then
somehow transfer it onto the skin then tat over it) or would the ink
from whatever they use interfere with the henna penetration?

Any suggestions????
