Carine Fabius (the author of one of the henna books sometimes
mentioned on this forum) has a mehndi studio called Lakaye in L.A.
This is also the origin of Earth Henna henna kits. Seems like that
would be a reputable place to go. The phone # I have for them is

once (I can't remember if this is the same person who goes by
Miss Monica - I think it is). She is in the L.A. area too. You might
try contacting her for a henna job, or for the names of others in your
area. Look for her email in previous posts. I'm sure their are LOTS
of places, but it's probably a good idea to go to one you're referred
to by this forum. They're more likely to be experienced and avoid
dangerous additives than some trendy place you find at random. Read
the black henna warnings before considering that too. If you get
hooked, you know where to come for do-it-yourself directions.
