The best conditioner that I ever found is the stuff for horses manes and tails that you find at pet stores, and jars of pure cholesterol that you find at dog shows. They knock tangles out of my calf-length mop like nothing else. I alternate horse conditioner with henna treatments. Actually, some of the finest hair care products out there are at dog and horse shows...people put terrifying amounts of money into making their Afghan Hound's floor length fur look like flowing silk, and the products they use are amazingly effective.
