If you've ever done dog obedience training, it will serve you wonderfully in dealing with clients, students, your children and people in general. People respond to the same body language and voice tone cues as any other mammal, especially horses and dogs that have lived with us a long time ... learn 'em, use 'em! Women often fail in business negotiations because girls don't learn a steady gaze, shoulders back, chest out, low steady voice with command tone. (Officer issuing a traffic ticket stance, or commanding a rottweiler). If your shoulders are rolled, eyes downcast, hips forward, voice high (particularly the tone rise at the end of a phrase) ....that tells most mammals (and every primate) that you are submissive. Submissive works in some situations...like getting out of a traffic ticket or other trouble, or encouraging someone to come close (think of a dog wagging it's tail and grovelling a little), but if you're submissive with a rottweiler or someone who owes you money, you'd get reduced to Purina Chow in minutes. Thank God business clients aren't like cats.
