: Is there any natural plant or somthing that can stain the skin : brown? Henna stains can come out anything from light orange through rich reds to dark brown, almost (but not quite) black. If you're looking to stain palms or soles, you can probably get fairly dark, and may be able to juggle the color toward the brown rather than red. If you're looking to stain other parts of the skin, be aware that henna will take differently on different skin types, so the stain won't be even across a large part of the body. (The area behind & below the ankle is often difficult to stain, and the heel will often stain quite well, leaving you with quite a contrast.) Try some henna, read other messages for how to deepen the color (good henna + heat + acid + time), and do test patches on whatever skin you're looking to stain. Also make sure that the duration of henna is what you're looking for (1-4 weeks, usually). Reports below didn't show much success with the black walnut products, but I don't recall details.
