This is pomegranates syrup, also called pomegranate molassas. It's a
thickish red-brown syrup available in middle eastern grocery stores
and some gourmet shops. I've even seen it in a grocery store once.
I think it's about $5.00 for a good sized bottle. Since you only use
a small amount per batch, it's pretty economical. I don't think
using fresh pomegranates would affect viscosity of the henna paste
though.
