: Great henna music at all times! (Some people here are absolute : specialists in wonderful world beat music ... I'm not one of them, : but I'm sure people can make suggestions) Music cheers you up when : you're down, and adds to the enthusiasm and joy level. I am a big fan of world music and would be glad to give suggestions to any takers. At a salon where I worked for a while, the owner loved heavy metal (not my favorite at all....no offense!) and would play it constantly at the highest possible sound level. I started to get physically ill from listening to it non-stop and I strongly believed that the clients weren't always crazy about it (some of them little old ladies). I feel that annoying music can create a really tense and undesirable environment for your clients. What is annoying? It's such a personal thing. I think that we just need to look at what we enjoy and try to judge other's reactions to it. Or at least try to make the music part of the ambiance, not a roar which obliterates the ambiance. Again, if you want any suggestions, I can help you out. : One or two excellent lights at your henna table are essential.
: Some comfy couch things where people can rest as they look through : your pattern books, and where they can blow-dry their hands.....in : darkish or greenish colors, because you never know when there will be : a henna splat. I can't stress enough the importance of good lighting....I worked in a salon for a while that had track lighting which gave too much light in certain positions and nothing but shadows in other positions. It was very annoying. And you might look into heat lamps for keeping the henna warm on certain body parts that are hard to reach.
