Camphor penetrates deeply into the skin. The thinking here is that it
carries the hennotannins with it, and stains a deeper layer. (I don't
think this has been confirmed.)
Eucalyptus seems to work for some, not for all. It may increase
circulation, and so increase the heat (and that tends to deepen the
stain).
