Different countries, different thingies..... Hope I didn't cause a problem! I was quoting from a Indian Hindi source, Jogendra Saksena. He defines tika as the painted dot. It's always tricky for westerners to get it right, because there are so many languages and variations in India alone. Then, if you include Pakistan, Nepal, Sri Lanka ..... it's easy to miss! In Nepal, isn't tika the vermillion streaked at the part of the hair?
