If you're concerned, then make the jar serve double duty - put some basic henna patterns on it and use it as reference. (I don't understand why places use ugly jars anyway - does it work better?) Also, I visited Catherine over the holidays and FINALLY understand how to make a cone. I was trying to do it like a poster, except with one end small. It seems to work better (I've now tried, WITHOUT leaks!) to fold a corner over a blob of henna, then start the roll so that the folded-over part gets bent back again, except for the narrow cone part. Hmmm...that explanation doesn't work very well. Let me know if anyone's curious. The long, narrow shape is much easier to use than the squared-off corner of a baggie or other such item.
