: THANKS A MILLION. . . one question, does harquus stain the skin
like
: a henna tattoo? I read a recipe, (I think, Catherine's) and it
: contained henna among other things. If so, how well?

Well another good source is the 3 volume set : THE USE AND FUNCTION
OF TATTOIING ON MOROCCAN WOMEN by Susan searight HRAFlex books Mw1-
001 Ethnography serires. You can interlibrary loan it from the
University of Rochester though your local library. And phootocopy
it.... They have 1 book on just the designs... Great resource. I
think it is on the resource bookl ist, you'd have to check to be
sure. From my understanding it stains black but I don't think wood
ash would hurt the skin. I use liquid black eyeliner when I perform
my American Tribal Style belly dance. It comes off with makeup
remover..... Blessings, Christine
