Vaseline works, kind of...

Before touching up the areas where henna fell off before it stained fully, I smeared vaseline all over the fingers and knuckles of my bag hand... Oh, yeah, and I pushed all the henna away from the zip seam and closed it off with a rubber band :) The vaseline only got on the actual bag, of course, and didn't rub onto the left, hennaed hand, so I would say it is safe... of course, if you DO get henna on the vaseline and you need to wipe it, you have to apply more vaseline, which is sort of a pain when you've only one hand to play with a mehndi bag and vaseline tube at once :) I would probably start using surgical or plastic gloves. (Plastic, because taking off a surgical glove is very much a two-handed operation, and plastic gloves are far easier to take off)
