The reason I doubt that the henna stone is ppd is that there is no
reason for anyone to use ppd in a stone form. It's too easily
purchased in powder as hair dye. Dyer's cutch comes in solid form ...
though it is not all that useful. Indigo comes in chunks, and is used,
but it doesn't seem a likely candidate. Could be any of a number of
things, but if I don't see it or have a clear description of it, I can
only guess.
Lots of places use ppd, because it's so cheap ..... damn shame it's
disasterously toxic.
