I don't doubt that liquid latex can be used to secure henna to the
skin, but I have worked in the theatre for several years, and I have
seen my share of rashes that have come out on people, due to the
irritating nature of liquid latex, and bare skin. I am to understand
that allergies to liquid latex are very common, and not confined skin
type. I think that this should be taken into consideration if one is
using liquid latex for the purpose of securing henna on the skin
before a wrap. As Catherine has said it is probably VERY IMPORTANT
that one applies NewSkin first to act as a barrier, as wraps are
applied for many many hours at a time. Some people apply a heating
pad to a wrap to enlarge the dye molecules (for enhancing color.) If
there is any kind of chemical reactions that take place with Liquid
latex when subject to heat, that would definately be an issue.

: I've been using Mehron's liquid latex for several years to cover
henna

: I find there is a slight fuzzing of the lines unless I spray the

: Latex is not for furry regions. Latex will rip off all your fur.
: Latex is not for bendy regions .... if you touch the latex to
itself,
: in your sleep or whatever, it will wad up into a little horror,
taking
: the henna with it. It's really not very good for hands.

: It's GREAT for hennaes that you could not otherwise wrap: a back,
a

so
: hot that other wraps would be miserable.

: You do your henna and let it dry. You New Skin it lightly
: (necessary to preserve fine detail) and then apply liquid latex.
Let
: that dry. Leave it on 8 hours or so.
