: I am wanting to get started doing henna tattoos. : ?'s : Should I use stencils to begin with? : How much should I charge? : Any other advise you may have to offer me as a beginner I would greatly appreciate. : I am located near Kansas City, MO----anyone with supplier info in this area? : Thanks! Before you decide to practice your craft on others, I would suggest you use yourself as a guinea pig and find what metheod of application works best for you. Apply henna is a skill as much as it is an art and, like anything else, requires practice. I know there are plenty of "henna kits" out there available, and some of them do their job adequately. However, I disdain the use of prepackaged products simply because I think they detract from the experience of henna application, which in part, includes creating the mixture yourself. Moreover, I think they are overpriced and hardly worth the investment. If I were you, I would experiment with some different henna mixtures, modifying the amount of dried lime extract, oil, etc ... added to the henna and find one that uniquely suits your personal taste. Buy yourself a decent cake applicator (get a cloth bag) and some different sized tips, and go to town on the parts of your body that could whether the beginner's inevitable mistakes. Good luck.
