I work for Clinique, and their eye cream, "All About Eyes" has been given the people's choice award for eye products. One of the main ingredients in this eye cream is caffeine. The caffeine in this product is not derrived from soda of any kind-it's pure caffeine. Caffeine in its purest form acts as an inti-inflammatory, therefore it helps to de-puff eyes, which is why it is so vital to the product's ingredients. Speaking from experience, if anyone would want to try this coke and henna trick, I'd be less concerned with the amount of caffeine in the coke, and more concerned with the amount of carbonated fruit acid in the coke. the amount of caffiene in the coke is trivial and cannot be absorbed into the skin and cause the same effect as when ingested- otherwise the FDA would not allow caffeine to be in Clinique products. (That is also why some people put teabags on their eyes to curb puffiness- it's the caffiene.) Anyway, the worst thing that could happen during the henna/coke-thing is your skin will be less puffy and the coke will alter the texture and effectiveness of your henna paste- so, don't worry.
