heat is nice on feet

Treated myself to a hot footbath on Friday. SInce I forgot to print
out Aisha's instructions, I couldn't remember all the ingredients she
uses (or even the full method) -- but I got the idea: get hot, stay
hot, and keep the henna hydrated...

So I dredged up the mustard bath mix (guaranteed to sweat out any
lurking cold virus) and had a good long soak. Then I hunkered down
with a cup of steaming ginger tea, a heating pad and my henna
supplies.

I put the heating pad under my feet while I was painting and it really
helped a lot! And once I was completely wrapped (did the plastic wrap
as well, since the tops of my feet don't sweat as much) and bundled in
two layers of wool socks I trundled off to bed to cuddle with a heated
flaxseed bag and my trusty cat.

The next morning the stain was nicely orange and has since darkened to
the darkest stain I've ever had on the tops of my feet! Not as dark
as on my palms, but a pretty chocolate nonetheless.

Too bad the weather is too cold for sandals. I want to show off my
designs....
