henna over scar tissue

Anybody ever henna over scar tissue? I have a good sized scar on my
right thigh, and I wanted to see whether the henna would take there.
Henna was not applied with any finesse; I just troweled the stuff on
in a big patch. The scar (about the size of a couple a quarters)was
DARKER at first, and then faded(it sort of PEELED) within a day or so
to lighter than the surrounding skin. (Except one very small spot at
the edge of the scar that is VERY dark) I hadn't seen this in the
archives, so I wondered; has anyone else tried this?
