Calling all experienced Henna users (as a hair dye!)

I am thinking of dying my hair with Henna. I have naturally medium
brown hair, but have dyed it red for years using chemical dyes (either
at home or at the hairdresser). I do this mostly because I like the
colour on me, but also because I have some grey hairs to cover!
Anyway, I like the intense red I usually get and a friend told me that
I should try Henna because it goes REALLY red. I just have a few
questions: Will it cover my grey hair? If it doesn't work out (ie is
not as intense as I'd like), can I dye my hair soon after? Will it
damage my already coloured/chemically treated hair? Will I lose my
natural curl? Should I get it done at a hairdresser? (indeed, do
hairdressers even use this stuff?) Any help would be much
appreciated! Thanks :)
