When you make bread the amount of flour the recipe calls for is always an estimate. Humidity, amount of moisture in the flour and small differences in the measure of other ingredients make it impossible to judge exactly. Henna is similar. Both henna and bread take some practice so you will be able to judge how much of each ingredient is adequate and when you have the right texture for your applicator. Most people don't note their recipes in exact quantities because that is not how they make their paste. If you want cheap and simple, start with a few tablespoons of sifted henna and add lemon juice until everything is wet and oozing. Let sit overnight and add more lemon juice to adjust consistency until it flows out of your applicator and doesn't spread when you apply it to skin. All the other ingredients you can add will tweak the color and texture and can be fun to experiment with. They are not however required. : Does any one have any recipes to make this stuff dark. : Or any ways to make a set up to use the same amount to : use each time with the right ingredients measured out to : use at the same time, if you know what I mean. : Example: : 4 tablespoons powder : 3 teaspoons oil or whatever : 2 teaspoons of this : 1 tablespoon of that : This makes life so much eazy. : Thanks, Craig Erlenmeyer
