: Do pre-mixed henna pastes work better or worse then ones mixed yourself? What kind of color could I expect from a pre mixed paste? I have to agree with Kenzi, that Shelly Mehndi cones SUCK....but that was my only experience w/premixed until I tried Mehndi MUD. It's 100% natural, smells of eucalyptus and lemon and comes in plastic bottles with screw on lids and application tips. I rarely use anything else.
The catch is that it's pricey compared to "regular" henna that you buy in powdered form. As a professional mehndi artist, I love knowing that the time I put into the art I create on people will for sure come out dark and beautiful after only being on the skin for 1 hour. And at Festivals my experience has been that wrapping people just doesn't work, not only do they screw up their designs, but it's a big time-taker for me, and in the long run just a big hassle. However, there are many people on this list that happen to use homemade paste with fabulous results. It's all about personal preference.
