Do not use henna anywhere around the eyes. Hennotannic acid will destroy red blood cells if it comes in contact with them, and tissues as thin as eyelids will pass hennotannic acid into the tiny cappilaries near the surface. Anyway ..... do you really want unsterilized vegetation and lemon juice right up in your eyes? Owwwwwwie! And, for heaven's sake, don't use any product there that you aren't absolutely certain is harmless! These are your eyes we're talking about! Any goofup of dyes or other rot that might be in some ***"henna"**** products could be really awful for your face, too! Henna will stain facial skin but not particularly well .... and there's that fade down process that looks like you did a messy job of eating an orange popsickle and didn't clean up. Also ... if you get any sun .... henna is a 100% sunblock, so you'll have a motley white where the henna was. Romans working in Palestine around 30 AD complained that the women who decorated their faces with henna looked like vampires stained with their most recent meal. There are some perfectly good cosmetics for doing up your face .... check websites for theatrical makeup, temptu and such!
