My henna is fresh green and after sifting its very smooth. So I can't
tell that the henna is the problem. It doesn't have any clumps or
pieces of stem. I can get pretty, somewhat fine lines with the
toothpick.

Could the lines not be flowing from the cone from lack of even
pressure? I made the cone without henna. Taped up all the edges.
Its not leaking. I hope I can learn to use one. I hear the lines are
very nice.
