Rg Veda, a leg up on a springtime henna party

There's a verse from the Rg Veda that I hennaed on my leg as resume' for a party I worked last weekend .... this says "By thy art, O Spirit, you overcome / the cunning withering of Death" .... and it seemed very appropriate for this time of year when every crevice in filthy old abandoned industrial buildings suddenly sprouts clean green grass, saplings, tiny flowers.

It was a terrific henna party .... the women threw all the men out of the house, and we had a glorious rasty time hennaeing and howling! Husbands and lovers waiting to drag loved ones home stood outside moping in the dark, drinking beer, stubbing out cigarettes in the grass, shaking their heads, and muttering as we carried on past 4 in the morning. Well ..... we were working VERY HARD to overcome cunning withering! It's an important job!
