Front Page Symbol

I was wondering if anyone knew what the symbol on the front page of the website represented. It is really interesting and I wanted to know if there was a meaning to it. If someone could e-mail me back and let me know, I would be really grateful for it. I'm really curious. Thanks! Hope everyone has a good day. =)
