Henna for red hair color

I used to buy a henna powder that smelled like clay -- all I
did was mix it with a little water until it was like mud,
then applied it to my hair, and it was beautiful! But this
was years ago, and I could only find it at a small general
store in Northamptom, Mass. Where can I buy old-fashioned
henna that will dye my hair back to its original color of
light auburn? I don't want any of that pseudo-henna that
you can buy in beauty supply stores. Thanks to anyone who
