Henna Linguistic TriviaPosted by Kree Arvanitas on May 16, 2000 at 07:31:56: One more tidbit to add to the to the discussion on henna words: the Romani word for henna in eastern Europe is "cná". Also - I'm not sure Greeks use "kypros" as I have seen posted in a couple of different places. It may be an old fashioned term. They use "kina" but the k is gutteral, not hard so it comes out sounding like "heena." On the Greek henna sites I have found, it's being spelled "henna."
