You can create different effects by using "stage makeup", regular cosmetics, and by making your own safe temporary pastes.  These cosmetic effects are are water resistant but will wash off with a good scrubbing.  They do not stain the skin!  These are very popular with Gujerati brides and other women who want temporary body art that will match their clothing.

This can be created with:
Waterproof cosmetics in black, silver, gold and copper
Cosmetic powder in black, silver, gold and copper  mixed into rice paste or gel glue

Embroidery Mehandi
Embroidery Mehandi is so named because it is created to match the embroidery on a woman's garments.
This can be created with:
Waterproof colored cosmetics  and waterproof glitter cosmetics in various colors
Glitter, colored and gilt cosmetic powders mixed with sugar/rice paste or spiking gel

This can be created with:
Waterproof glitter, colored, and gilt cosmetics
Glitter, gilt, and colored  body powder mixed into sugar/rice paste or spiking gel
 
 
chundana
Chundana Tattoo Design
The word "tattoo" is used because the painting is placed on the upper arm, a frequent tattoo placement.  This is NOT a permanent tattoo, done with needle work, that penetrates into the basal skin cells!  This is a temporary paint on the skin surface!
This can be created with:
Sequins attached with eyelash adhesive, bindi glue, or liquid latex,
Silver and black  waterproof body paint
Silver and black cosmetic powders mixed into sugar/rice paste or spiking gel
