Henna and the Magnificent MomentPosted by Catherine Cartwright Jones on April 19, 2001 at 20:43:39: In reply to: Henna Usage posted by Ben on April 19, 2001 at 14:11:43: :: The henna approach is appealing because its temporary. Henna celebrates the ephemeral joys of life .... virginity, pregnancy, birth, circumcision, holidays, passion, sacrifice, homecoming, the advent of a new year .... There's a great good in appreciating the ebb and flow of life and taking delight in TRANSITORY MOMENTS in life/henna (then releasing them) rather than trying to fossilize bits of your life in ink! IMHO ...it requires courage to take joy in the impermanent chaotic bliss of life rather than requiring it to hold still and become permanent! It's so easy to insist that something good last forever .. and that's just not going to happen. Its scary to allow the passion of a moment to mark you .. knowing that it is NOT forever! Henna is not for Wusses! Henna is for the daring and passionate!
