Hi,
I have an allergy to walnuts, and i have learned (through experience!
yeach...) that if any part of a walnut (yes, even the shell) comes
into contact with my skin for an extended ammount of time (5 minutes
will do it) or if i eat any walnuts, my throat swells and threatens
to close up... Fortunately it doesn't happen very often, as i have
learned to avoid them...
So be careful...

: : If I did use a henna with walnut extract in it, after
: : the paste was off and the skin washed, would he have a reaction
to
: : touching the area where the design was?
:
: Interesting question. It all depends which part of the walnut is
: causing the allergy. I have nut allergy (fortunately just contact
: swelling, not the life-threatening variety), so I can't touch
: peanuts, for example. Yet I am fine with peanut oil.
:
: So I guess if the part of the walnut which dyes the skin is the
part
: to which he is allergic then, yes you might have a problem.
Certainly
: nut allergy sufferers can react to extremely small quantities of
the
: allergen. A relative of mine reacted to a piece of cellophane which
: had previously touched a nut.
:
: Personally, I'd recommend steering clear of walnut extract from now
: on.
