I used to follow a recipe that called for 3 heaping teaspoons of
henna ,1 teaspoon of eucalyptus oil and black tea to bring to proper
consistency. The full teaspoon seemed excessive not to mention
expensive. Essential oils are not cheap and since there is no real
proof that the oils make a difference in the depth a stain you get, I
would say 3 to 4 drops would be plenty.
