Did you exfoliate, shave, or scrub hard while washing your legprior to application? The first time I attempted a design on my wife,
she exfoliated & scrubbed the area (her forearm) vigorously prior to
application....and the lemon juice in the paste stung her arm and
the area surrounding turned red. Fearing some kind of allergy (it
was the first time she had henna applied), we removed it immediately.
A few weeks later, we tried again, but she didn't scrub/exfoliate
first, and it was fine.
