I'm a real risk taker...NOT!. Actually, I hadn't heard of the possible problems until AFTER I tried the henna. Just lucky I guess. The henna doesn't cover as well as your chemical dye and I have a slight, but not too noticible difference in color from the new growth as opposed to the left-over chemical color. But it sure beats the grey! Mary : : Hi! I was really encouraged after reading your post --- i always : hated the idea of coloring my hair, but after i started grey (at age : 27, ack!) i dealt with it up until last year, when i started coloring : it close to my own color to cover the grey. : : i would love to stop the chemicals, but so many people have told me : that henna and dyeing are not a safe mix! I'm definately going to : test hair from my brush first, as catherine suggested. : : My question: How long after your last coloring did you use the : henna?? Did you have any negative results? I've heard anytyhing : from green stripes to incineration can happen. (yikes) : : thanks so much for any info you can give ... : brooke : : : : : : : I recently tried the Navaid Henna Hair Dye and was very pleased with : : the results. I have dyed my hair for the past 2 years with : : commercial dyes and damaged it beyond belief. I was looking for a : : safer alternative (especially after the recent research linking : : permanent hair dye to bladder cancer)and found Navaid on the : : internet. I chose light mahogany, a color close to my natural hair : : color (dark brown) and the color I have been dying it (chocolate : : cherry). My hair looks good and I'm no longer striping it of : : moisture and natural elements.
