Re: wraps and smearsPosted by Anne Beltestad on May 14, 2001 at 21:07:22: In reply to: Re: henna removal on palms and fine lines posted by Zimra on May 14, 2001 at 20:55:37: The design looked like some good things were happening. Too bad aboutthe smearing...that happened way too many times for comfort for me...my hand naturally relaxes a bit curled, so whenever I wrapped henna then slept on it, it got way hot and blurred where the lines on my palms are. This happened especially badly if I took a bath before bed or the henna was anything resembling damp when I wrapped it. However, I can't think of a palm design I did on myself that i wrapped with no smearing... My suggestion is to not wrap, and unfortunately I had to learn this by trial and error. Usually I just put a sock over the hand, but make sure the sock is VERY loose, otherwise it scrunches my hand inwards. I know others here wrap palms with success, but maybe this has to do more with personal body temp. I think Newskin might help, but i am not willing to use the stuff; I think it's toxic. try a lot of lemonsugar, heating it with a blowdryer beween coats, and only putting a sock over it so it won't get all over your sheets. good luck, Anne : Oh, bummer! I hate it when that happens. : : I would do the exfoliating thing for a few days, try salt and lemon : juice togther (unless you have paper cuts! yeow!). Once the color : fades a bit, I'd redo the design. I've never done that on such an : extensive area, but it's generally a good way to correct smudgies... : the smudges usually fade quicker anyway, and they will look paler in : comparison to the new design. : : What do you wrap with? I rely on cotton to keep my design in place, : after either newskin or LOTS of l/s solution. I apply stretchy gauze : roll over that, then plastic wrap and an ace bandage. I've had very : little problem with the henna moving, almost none in fact. : : Zimra
