suger in the henna mix and things to do with plastic bags when you're boredPosted by Anne in CT on May 16, 2001 at 22:26:09: Hej,I was experimenting the other night and mixed some of my henna powder with a lemonade concentrate (mainly lemon juice and sugar - just add water for overly sweet lemonade) and straight lemon juice. The design I did on my ankle came out wonderfully, but I'm not sure I'm comfortable with the consistancy of the henna paste - it reminded me of the green goo one of the autistic students at school uses for sensory activities: not quite solid, not quite liquid. Kinda like egg whites after they've been whipped (or so I remember; it's been a long time since I've done that). I was never sure when the paste was ready to be wrapped - it never went from glossy to matte. Perhaps I didn't wait long enough. Has anyone else experienced this? Is this how it's supposed to be with sugar in the mix? I'm sure using concentrate changed the chemistry a bit. I also ended up making a cone out of an old plastic bag from the grocery store. I was worried that it might break or leak (I get leaking from sheet protectors sometimes), but it worked find. It was hard to roll it, though. Very flimsy material. C'est la vie. Anne
