the thrill of doing things yourselfPosted by Anne on May 18, 2001 at 12:36:58: In reply to: Re: names in chinese symbols posted by Rebecca on May 18, 2001 at 01:20:47: Hej,Please go to the link in my previous post or the links pages on the Henna Page site. If you don't want to do that, you can do an internet search. You can go to the local and university libraries in your area and look something up. You could find a person who writes Chinese and ask him/her. You might want to narrow your search down to the symbol/word for Dad or Father because one that resembles either might mean something like "tank desk" or "garbage couch" (nonsensical). I am a teacher, grad student and a literacy volunteer (among other things) and believe it's very important that people know how to find things for themselves. (I also don't have a lot of free time.) I don't mind starting people out on the right paths, but it's not my job to get the information and send it out. If it were, I'd have my own site and a very profitable business. So check out the link in my previous post. The site is a wonderful place to begin your search. Good luck! Anne, who doesn't mean to sound bitchy and who highly recommends (sp? it's early for me)going down the bunny hole or checking out your local and university libraries. Librarians are great and can help you with almost any problem. : I was wanting to get a tattoo resembling DAD or FATHER but I'm sure : of the correct symbol. I was hoping that you could help me and : the symbol to my above email address.
