Jamila henna and dye in hennaPosted by Yvonne on May 29, 2001 at 01:57:27: I just got my jamila henna from castle art. Trying it for the firsttime. Mixed it up and used some today. It started to dye my skin almost immediately! Looks bright orange (thru the cracks) and I think it's gonna be beautiful. I'm gonna borrow my dad's digital camera and get some pictures. If this turns out like i think it will i'm gonna use it at the festival I'm doing this weekend. I also put three different types of henna out in the window sill today to see if they turned color - wondering about that green dye everones been talking about. I have some henna powder from Castle Art, Amazing body art, a local store and of course the new Jamila I just bought. I also have some of the "red henna" sample I received from Dawn. I even had some henna from Natural Expressions but I used it on my hair :) I put out the Castle Art, amazing body art, and the local store stuff. No change yet...the colors are noticebly different from the get go though...Castle Art is the brightest and freshest looking. The other too are green but a duller, darker shade. I tried rubbing all of them between my fingers but I can't tell anything...they all just powder away...no dye that I can see. I don't think any of them are contain dye but I was curious after the talk about it.
