He did a double take, walked up, did a TRIPLE take, and exclaimed "That's my grandmother's face" That's the pattern I have used ever since. It's not exactly period, but it's documentation enough for my needs. Lauren : This weekend at a fair we were doing african face painting including : berber tattoo patterns (as well as those from other countries). To : get things flowing I did one of CCJ's Jordanian tattoo patterns on a : friend of mine in black paint. She kept it on all day and towards : the end of the day we went on a food run to the nearby Middle Eastern : section of town. In the restaurant the owner saw my : friend's "tattoo" and was flabbergasted. He said, "my mother has : that same tattoo"! He was from Jordan and was obviously surprised to : see this symbol in the heart of Brooklyn on a white American woman! : : Also at this fair, there was another henna artist (doing black henna, : mind you) with lots of CCJ's designs in her book without an : acknowledgement that there were Catherine's designs. sigh!
