The clear stuff dries semi-transparent and the gold dries to a dark golden yellow. I got this stuff called "magic stardust" which is a product to be used with liquid latex. It comes in a little pot and looks like plain ole talcum powder. You dust it onto the dry liquid latex and rub it in gently and it makes the liquid latex look like highly polished metal. The gold LL looked like bright shiny gold. I haven't tried it yet on the clear but I can just imagine. The stuff is a little expensive but looks very cool. It looks especially cool over henna because you can see the shape of your henna under the LL so that the final effect is like an intricate pattern embroidered in gold threa
