Ta Mark - fountain of all knowledge!!Posted by Lynn on June 15, 2001 at 21:26:46: In reply to: Re: NO PPD, Guess We Won One posted by mark on June 15, 2001 at 09:40:06: : : guys, a little question - is ppd actually illegal in this country: : then? I have a book, and it states in it that BLACK INDIAN INK : : TATTOO'S (it's wording - not mine) are illegal - does anyone : actually : : know? Lynn: : : : : : : : Some time back Samantha posted about a UK site selling PPD Black : : : : henna. Guess the complaints have got through as they now : : advertise : : : : the product as PPD free and acknowledge the dangers of PPD. : : : : : : : : Still curious as to what they are using that can give 7 to 14 : : days : : : : though. : : : : : : : : : Yup we won one there....as far as im aware they are now supplying : : : body paint which doesnt last as long as they state it does but im : : : sure they will get stung for that by someone at some point! : : : : : : With the threat that trading standards and the local police was : : gonna : : : coma and seize stock and such they change their stock pretty : : : sharpish....best way to check...place a little order!... : : : If you look at the ppd anaylsis it shows that it was tested for skin : reactions and deemed a dangerous substance to use on the skin and you : should follow the advice on the label/packet etc. : : As black henna used to decorate the skin means that you are placing : the chemical on to the skin then yes this would be illegal to supply : or apply as the chemical has been tested by the powers that be and is : dangerous to use on the skin. By using ppd on the skin and therefore : causing allergic reactions and scarring leads you open to charges for : ABH (Actual Bodily Harm) if there is a permant scar...even if it does : not leave a scar but causes a reaction this would still leave you : open to charges for GBH as you are using a products which has been : tested and deemed not for skin use. : : As for indian ink....dont know about that!
