Egyptian Henna?Posted by Lynn on June 22, 2001 at 21:21:36: I was at a fair today and a coloured lady began a very interestingconversation with me about henna, and how it was used in her culture etc. She said that when she was married her hands were hennaed with 'Egyptian Henna', it was applied and she then peeled it off and it left a black stain. What is she talking about. I asked her if it had PPD in it, but she didn't really understand what I was talking about. Does anyone know? Interesting point, wonder if anyone else has noticed this - A lot more people this year are asking about black henna, some say that they want it and it looks better then brown (**?!!"), when I explain about the dangers, they don't care and still say they want black. Whereas others are starting to know about the dangers - say they have read about it in magazines etc, so people are starting to be educated (I actually tell everyone I henna about it.) I've always included a little write up about black henna on my A Frame but I've decided to do an A4 sheet to display at my stall all about it - gory pictures and all!! Lynn
