While I work the night shift, there are still quite a few attorneys still in the office when I am there. I usually have henna somewhere visible and often it is full henna on my hand(s). I have had some positive responses, people who know what it is, both while and from hennaing cultures. Once I was talking to an attorney and the minute he noticed my fully hennaed hands he was struck dumb (imagine that for a lawyer) and when he did speak it was just gibberish. He didn't ask what it was, just stared at my hands. One of the managers of my department looks at my henna and sneers, but has never asked what it is, or shown any interest whatsoever. I am annoyed by her sneer; it's like sneering what someone wears to work because you don't like it, and that is pretty rude. I guess she feels justified in her rudeness because I am doing something freaky and weird. We just can't get no respect! Despite the varying reactions, I do manage to get some clients from work after they have seen my henna. Kenzi, making lawyers speechless everywhere...ava
