My boss (the division director no less) loves it, comes in and grabs my hands off the keyboard and then gives me a critique of the design. It's really funny and actually quite helpful. During large meetings with our faculty when I'm introduced she ofen asks me to hold up my hands and talks about how that is my double life. It's embarassing but supportive. I work occasionally at a law firm when they are short handed, sorry for the bad pun, and they all love it. The office is casual and hard working so as long as you're competent it doesn't much matter what you look like, within reason of course. In general, I've had positive responses at work, its been the general public who was often negative but with all the media attention and available information that is changing rapidly. good luck at your job, it's always a bit sketchy when an employer starts to dictate your physical appearance rather than the clothing. I'm not sure in other states but in California it falls under a discrimintation act if you're treated unfairly due to a purple mohawk , multiple facial peircings, weight, etc. At the very least your choice of adornment isn't a valid way to judge your potential or capability and people should be sensitive to that. jessica
