I've always been able to wear absolutely anything because I've run my
own business, and if in someone elses place, I've been an artist or
art teacher (which comes with a "wierdness permit"). Presently I
teach at a university, and wear henna most of the time (and go
barefoot when lecturing, and dress in whatever happens to suit me, and
tend to sit crosslegged on the tables or floor while lecturing).
Once every semester, if the students have worked hard enough to be a
bit ahead on coursework, I stop and do a lecture on henna, and send
them home all stained up! (if possible we do this before Thanksgiving
or spring break).
