I think you're making good decisions. Personally, I handle
appointments in a similar way. I usually recieve email requests from
people so we go back and forth once or twice and then i call them. I
talk to them a bit and if I feel comfortable I'll travel to their
house or they can come to me. I too, do this only for women, I'm just
more comfortable that way.
I think it's important to feel the situation out and go by your
intuition. It's strange going alone to someones house who maybe
contacted you by email or a phone message. I guess most businesses are
run this way but the henna thing and going to a home is really
intimate, private and has the capacity to be problematic if a bad
choice is made.
I think you're doing just fine, and listen to your gut!
