Sounds like you did your best and had onedissatisfied customer. I make sure to hand out aftercare sheets to all my clients so they know what to do and also explain to them that if they want their design to come out dark they must follow the directions. Even after explaining that to some people I hear them as they walk away talking to their friends, "I'm going to scrape this off the second I get home". What can you do? The only dissatisfied client I have had so far (knocking soundly on wood) was a woman who wanted me to do a design on her belly. She called the next day to say that it didn't stain. I reminded her of what I told her at the fair, that the belly doesn't take the stain very well. She claimed that I didn't tell her that, which is very possible because that day was very stressful. It was a $5 design so we both chalked it up to experience. The problem is that neither you nor the client can prove whether or not they followed your instructions. You want to be nice but you also don't want to be a doormat. As for going to the client's house, I don't do it just for a $10 design. It would not be worth my time and my subway fare alone is $3 round trip. I agree with the others that you should let her come to you.
