Re: Cajeput heaven!!Posted by Cheryl on July 10, 2001 at 15:04:48: In reply to: Cajeput heaven!! posted by Kenzi on July 10, 2001 at 03:55:05: : I finally got to see the results of cajeput-enhanced henna and: WOW!!!! The color is really gorgeous and deep, dark, chocolate : cherry. It looks good enough to eat. What is even more amazing is : that the older the cajeput-henna paste, the better the stain (up to a : certain limit, I am sure). I had a design on the back of my hand : with three-day old paste (that had been sitting open in the sun and : air and heat) and after two hours it gave a really nice dark stain on : a hard to stain place. The henna done on my friend's hands was done : with the same three-day old paste left on overnight and the color was : magnificent. She could have left it on for 3 hours and it probably : would have been just as nice. She was assisting me at a wedding two : days after application so her henna was at its absolute best and it : sure made us look good! : : Leaving the paste on for 20 minutes on the back of my hand yielded so- : so results, but it was so much better than non-cajeput henna which : wouldn't have shown up at all. The only drawback to all of this is : that I can't make any mistakes because it has already stained by the : time I whip out my toothpick to correct it! It can only make me a : better henna artist! : : Long live the cajeput tree! Oddly enough, I had similar results with "old" henna paste and frankincense oil. It was exciting to find that 3 or 4 day old paste could have an extended lifespan with great results! I can't wait to experiment with cajeput.
